Our Commitment to you

UPDATED AUG 13th 2021

In the interest of keeping our staff and customers protected from Covid-19; Effective 12:01am August 7th 2021, masks will remain mandatory within our facility at all times. We will remain at 50% occupancy but no longer require appointment booking for visits. Members will still be required to maintain 2m distance between whenever possible and self-exclude if you have any symptoms on the Manitoba covid 19 screening tool

We have consulted experts in the fields of medicine, virology, epidemiology, mathematics and statistics as well as surveyed available literature and current events globally to make an evidence-based decision, that we are confident, puts the health and wellbeing of our community first while still allowing our business to grow and recover from the burden of Covid-19 restrictions and closures. These changes will allow us to reintroduce group programming, small group training and bootcamps for fall.

At One Family Fitness Centre we strive to be a contributing member of Manitoba’s health care system. We realise members have been wearing masks in our facility for over a year and thank them for their ability to adapt to any obstacle Covid-19 put in their way. We implemented mandatory mask use before it became mandatory in Manitoba in Summer 2020. To be seen as leaders in health care, it is necessary to align with the overwhelming evidence that supports continued mask use in indoor settings where patrons may remain together in a “prolonged contact” situation.

We thank all our members who have sought out vaccination at their earliest convenience and continue to do so. We acknowledge most of our members are fully vaccinated. And the proportion of vaccinated members exceeds the current numbers of 71% of those aged 12 and up. All our staff are fully vaccinated and will continue to wear masks while working with our members. We will continue to not only monitor Manitoba data, but the broader national and global statistics with respect to Covid-19 and revisit these measures as the situation changes. We encourage members who have not yet been able to get vaccinated to do so in preparation for a potential requirement of vaccination by public health like other regions.

Rest assured we strive to be the industry leaders in protecting the health and wellbeing of our members. We have installed Merv-13 filtration and increased fresh air intake through the HVAC system. Air circulation remains constant with 24-7 operation of the HVAC fan system. The entrance will remain key card access and non-members will continue to be screened before entry.  These measures are temporary and will remain in effect until we can determine the trajectory of the delta variant and whether a return to school will result in a wave like last fall. We want to avoid another closure. These measures are safe and effective and will dramatically reduce the likelihood of any closures due to Covid-19 exposures.

Code of Conduct

OFFC - Code of Conduct

Access to OFFC Facility  There is a minimum age requirement of 16 years to become a OFFC member or 8 years with direct supervision of an adult.

Dress code–Performing a physical activity in the OFFC facilities requires appropriate clothing and shoes. Short-sleeved t-shirts, shorts, sweat suits and running shoes are allowed. No one may walk around OFFC in sock feet, barefoot or shirtless. Shoes must be worn for resistance training and cardio training.

Some individuals are sensitive to certain strong odours, please limit the quantity of perfume, cologne or other perfumed products that you wear during your workout.

Personal hygiene–Even if personal hygiene is above all a question of health, it is also a determining factor in our relations with others. Persistent unpleasant odours are sufficient reason for a member to be rejected. It is therefore essential to change and wash clothing regularly, after each workout.

·       Bring your own towels and take them home.

·       Shower must be wiped down after each use

·       Member is liable for any damage should a shower be left running

·       OFFC and its employees are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

OFFC has lockers available for your convenience and to protect your possessions. You are advised to leave them locked at all times with a padlock. OFFC and its staff hold no responsibility for lost or stolen objects. Members must empty the locker at the end of their workout, or the padlock will be cut at closing time.

A limited number of lockers are available for monthly rental and for the duration of your contract. To inquire about locker rental contact facility management

Cell phones are allowed in silent or vibration mode only. Using a cell phone and taking photographs of others are forbidden. We ask you leave the premises to answer or to make a call.

The use of one or more machines at a time is allowed; however, members must share them during the periods of recovery in their routine or by alternating with other members who wish to use them. Please speak to one of our employees if necessary.  For reasons of cleanliness, members must wipe off the machines before and after using them. Spray-bottle and cloth are available for cleaning the machines. Take a cloth and use it for your entire workout.

All equipment used, such as dumbbells, weights, benches, balls and mats, must be cleaned and put away after use. Staff members reserve the right to remind you of this rule if necessary. Throwing or dropping weights or dumbbells onto the floor is forbidden.

During peak hours, the use of cardio machines is limited to 30 minutes. For reasons of cleanliness, members must wipe the equipment after using it and before leaving it for others. Moist wipes are available for this purpose. Certain treadmills have 30 min limits while others have 60 min limits.

Number of participants–Because class sizes are limited by the capacity of the room, the OFFC administration reserves the right to limit registration for each class.  Access will be determined on a first come, first served basis.

Course content and cancellation–The OFFC administration reserves the right to change instructors, schedules and course content according to the rate of participation, the level of client satisfaction or for other reasons. The number of classes offered each session depends on the time of year and the number of registered participants. OFFC does not guarantee that a class will continue from one session to the next.

Absence and replacement of an instructor–If an instructor is to be absent, it is their duty to find a replacement; however, this is not always possible. The OFFC administration will do everything it can to offer the class, but we cannot guarantee that it will take place, and we may be forced to cancel it or propose a different class to those members who are present. This may last for the duration of the search period for a replacement.

Members must behave and speak respectfully to other members and to staff. They must refrain from speaking loudly to avoid disturbing another member's workout. Facility policies and procedures are to be followed at all times.

Violation of the code of conduct may lead to verbal warnings from staff, and a written warning if the situation requires.

Staff members have the right to remind you of a regulation (if it becomes necessary) to inform you of the standards in place at OFFC. They will ask for your cooperation in maintaining them.

If a staff member sees that, despite verbal warnings, a member continues to violate the rules, or in cases of abuse or a serious offense, the OFFC administration will demand in writing that the rule in question be followed. The member will be reminded of the standards in place at OFFC and will be asked to correct any behaviour that violates these internal standards.

If the OFFC administration, through a staff member, sees that, despite the written warning, a member continues to violate a rule, or in cases of abuse or a serious offense, the member will be temporarily or permanently expelled from OFFC and have their membership contract terminated.
