Our Commitment to you

UPDATED Feb 7 2022

COVID-19 MEASURES EFFECTIVE Feb 7 2022 WITHIN OUR FACILITY

We remain at 50% occupancy, we will be resuming some group classes during low traffic hours. Member pre-registration is no longer required. All members are at least partially (2 doses) immunized against Covid-19. Staff all possess at least 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Masks are required per the Public health orders while entering/exiting the facility, while in common areas and while loitering within the facility. Masks may be removed while training in place as long as physical distancing is practiced. Continue to clean all equipment before and after use. As always masks are provided for patrons who may forget their mask.

Previous measures below may be in part still in place, please see latest update.

In the interest of keeping our staff and customers protected from Covid-19; Effective 12:01am August 7th 2021, masks will remain mandatory within our facility at all times. We will remain at 50% occupancy but no longer require appointment booking for visits. Members will still be required to maintain 2m distance between whenever possible and self-exclude if you have any symptoms on the Manitoba covid 19 screening tool

We have consulted experts in the fields of medicine, virology, epidemiology, mathematics and statistics as well as surveyed available literature and current events globally to make an evidence-based decision, that we are confident, puts the health and wellbeing of our community first while still allowing our business to grow and recover from the burden of Covid-19 restrictions and closures. These changes will allow us to reintroduce group programming, small group training and bootcamps for fall.

At One Family Fitness Centre we strive to be a contributing member of Manitoba’s health care system. We realise members have been wearing masks in our facility for over a year and thank them for their ability to adapt to any obstacle Covid-19 put in their way. We implemented mandatory mask use before it became mandatory in Manitoba in Summer 2020. To be seen as leaders in health care, it is necessary to align with the overwhelming evidence that supports continued mask use in indoor settings where patrons may remain together in a “prolonged contact” situation.

We thank all our members who have sought out vaccination at their earliest convenience and continue to do so. We acknowledge most of our members are fully vaccinated. And the proportion of vaccinated members exceeds the current numbers of 71% of those aged 12 and up. All our staff are fully vaccinated and will continue to wear masks while working with our members. We will continue to not only monitor Manitoba data, but the broader national and global statistics with respect to Covid-19 and revisit these measures as the situation changes. We encourage members who have not yet been able to get vaccinated to do so in preparation for a potential requirement of vaccination by public health like other regions.

Rest assured we strive to be the industry leaders in protecting the health and wellbeing of our members. We have installed Merv-13 filtration and increased fresh air intake through the HVAC system. Air circulation remains constant with 24-7 operation of the HVAC fan system. The entrance will remain key card access and non-members will continue to be screened before entry.  These measures are temporary and will remain in effect until we can determine the trajectory of the delta variant and whether a return to school will result in a wave like last fall. We want to avoid another closure. These measures are safe and effective and will dramatically reduce the likelihood of any closures due to Covid-19 exposures.

Additional Info:

Mandatory Physical Distancing in Place; patrons and staff must remain 2m(6ft) apart at all times.

Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/ COVID-19

The Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact and COVID-19 virus droplet inhalation. As a result, Federal, Provincial, and local governments and Federal and Provincial Health Agencies have placed restrictions on the congregation of large groups of people unless physical distancing measures can be effectively maintained. One Family Fitness Centre (“OFFC”) has initiated policies and procedures for both staff and members to observe and obey, as specifically mandated by Public Health Authorities and the Government of Manitoba, as preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, OFFC cannot guarantee that infection with COVID-19 may not occur within its premises, despite the safety procedures implemented at its Clubs.

By signing this Document, I consent to and declare that:

  1. I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending OFFC and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. Prior to returning to OFFC and use of its facilities and programs, I agree to provide sufficient evidence that I have been medically cleared of COVID-19 infection (admittance into OFFC will be at the sole discretion of OFFC Management)

  4. I have familiarized myself with and I agree to comply with all COVID-19 rules and regulations imposed by OFFC regarding the use of the facilities, equipment and cleaning protocols, including maintaining physical distancing of a minimum of six (6) feet at all times while in OFFC, and providing proof of immunization either prior to signup or if required for verification;

  5. I understand that if I do not obey the rules and regulations that are posted in OFFC’s fitness facilities, my membership with OFFC may be suspended or rescinded as a result of the infraction of OFFC rules and/ or regulations (member suspension or revocation will be at the sole discretion of OFFC Management);

  6. In consideration of my use of the exercise equipment, programs and facilities provided by OFFC, I expressly agree and contract, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assigns, that OFFC and its insurers, employees, officers, directors, and associates, shall not be liable for any damages arising from personal injuries (including death) sustained by me, or my guest in, on, or about the premises, or as a result of the use of equipment, programs or facilities, regardless of whether such injuries result, in whole or in part, from the negligence of the company.

  7. I voluntarily accept all of the foregoing risks and assume full and sole responsibility for any and all injuries or illness to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, illness, disability, and death), damages (both economic and non-economic), claim, liability expense, or losses of any kind, that I may experience or incur, in connection with my attendance at OFFC or participation in OFFC programming, or services (“Claims”). I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of OFFC, it’s employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during or after attending OFFC, use of OFFC equipment or participation in any OFFC programs or services
